The main character, Ali, knows that there is something her mother has been keeping secret from her. Her mom reluctantly allows her to go with her aunt to spend time at a lake cabin, that has been owned by the family for many years. While Ali is at the cabin she meets a mean-spirited girl named Sissy. The more Ali gets to know Sissy- Ali starts to realize that there is something seriously wrong with Sissy. In fact, Sissy may be a part of the secret her mother has been keeping from Ali her whole life.
