The problem is, the jellyfish is locked up in his old lab. Ellie and her grandfather try to come up with a plan to get back this special jellyfish. You will love Ellie’s feisty grandfather and how funny it is for an old man to be inside a teenage body!

Here is another goofy book for kids who love Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Otis and his family move to an apartment in New York City, where Otis meets all kinds of wacky neighbors. One kid hides in a potted plant all day, cursing people he does not like. Another neighbor boy has a pet pony, which his family pretends is a dog, so they are able to keep the pony in their apartment. Otis and his neighbors have all sorts of crazy adventures that will make you laugh!

Review: Betty Bunny is a HANDFUL. She loves chocolate cake so much, she wants to marry it. She thinks school is yucky, because there is no chocolate cake to eat. One day at home she throws a fit, and her chocolate cake is taken away. You will laugh as Betty Bunny comes up with a foolish plan to stay near her chocolate cake.

Review: The crayons in Duncan’s crayon box are fed up! Some of the crayons feel they are being used too much by Duncan, and other crayons feel ignored. The crayons write letters to Duncan expressing their frustration and the changes they would like to see happen. You will laugh at the crayon’s letters and start to wonder how your own crayons are feeling!

Title: Desmond Pucket Makes Monster Magic

Review: I am always on the look-out for books kids can read after they finish all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate books. Desmond Pucket “fits the bill” and would be best friends with Greg and Nate. Desmond is another kid who gets in a ton of trouble at school, and is in constant danger of getting expelled. You will get a kick out of this book.

Title: A Dog Called Homeless

Author: Sarah Lean

Review: Fans of Shiloh, The One and Only Ivan, and A Dog’s Way Home will love this book. A young girl’s mother dies, and her family is falling apart. Her dad is so sad, he can’t talk about her mother. Cally (the young girl) starts to see her dead mother. When she tries to tell people, they think she is lying and making up stories. Then Cally starts to see her dead mother with a big friendly dog. Cally would desperately love to have this dog, who seems to be a stray. Her dad refuses to let her have a dog, and Cally stops talking completely. This book will make you cry and you will LOVE how the ending has a “twist” that you will not see coming!

Review: Bad Kitty acts so awful- the books are hilarious! No matter what the situation is: bath time, going to obedience school, getting babysat… Bad Kitty has plenty of bad behavior to fill the pages. If you love cats, loathe cats, or are indifferent to cats; it won’t matter. You’ll LOVE these books.

*The Bad Kitty series was added to our “Top 100 List.” The Bad Kitty books are checked out by kids all the time. We knew the series deserved “Top 100” status!

Title: Pie

Author: Sarah Weeks

Review: This story is a seriously sweet mystery. Sweet because of all the mouth-watering pie recipes that go with each chapter, and sweet because you will LOVE the characters! Alice has an aunt named Polly who is the BEST pie maker ever. Alice loves her Aunt Polly and is so sad when Polly dies. The mystery begins when everyone is trying to figure out what Aunt Polly did with her prize-winning pie crust recipe. Where did Aunt Polly leave that recipe? Everyone wants to find out!
